Violent crime in Arab society has surged, with 21 lives claimed in January alone, more than double the number from the same month last year. The homicide rate in the Arab community has reached unprecedented levels, and if the trends continue, 2025 could be even deadlier. Law enforcement launched a major operation in the city of Umm al-Fahm to combat the violence, but community leaders were dismayed, stating that it did nothing to deter killings. Police arrested 31 suspects for economic and workplace offenses during the operation, but the deterrence was short-lived, as three residents of Umm al-Fahm were murdered just days later. Experts attribute the violence to the limited success of law enforcement in solving murder cases in the Arab community.
