Defence giant Babcock International Group has raised its annual guidance after strong demand in its nuclear and marine segments. The group's nuclear arm experienced double-digit organic sales growth, while its marine division won a contract to operate Skynet, the Ministry of Defence's military satellite communications system. Babcock now expects to make a turnover of around £4.9 billion in the year ending March and post underlying operating profits of over £339.7 million. Shares in the company jumped by 11.6% following the trading update.
