Two Democratic legislators in Illinois have introduced legislation to repeal a law that penalizes participation in the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement against Israel. The law, passed in 2015, imposes penalties on businesses and individuals who refuse to denounce the movement. State Rep. Abdelnasser Rashid and State Sen. Michael Porfirio argue that the law violates Americans' fundamental rights under the US Constitution. They are urging the public to support the Illinois Human Rights Advocacy Protection Act, which would repeal the anti-BDS law.
