Israel has denied entry to European Parliament member Rima Hassan due to her past comments supporting boycotts, sanctions, and armed struggle against Israel. Interior Minister Moshe Arbel issued the order at the recommendation of the Diaspora Affairs Ministry. Hassan was en route to Israel from Brussels to meet with Palestinian Authority officials as part of a European Union delegation. She has previously voiced support for armed struggle against Israel on social media and has been summoned by French police for comments allegedly lauding terrorism.
