Approximately 45,000 people participated in the Tel Aviv Marathon, with Felix Kimutai of Kenya winning the race. Omosa Teresiah Kwamboka, also from Kenya, won the women's race. The marathon included a special run for wounded soldiers and disabled veterans, and 59 yellow balloons were released to symbolize the hostages still held in Gaza. The event closed numerous roads in the city.
