The Indian Embassy has asked the family of Thomas Gabriel Pareira, who was shot dead in Jordan, to bear the cost of bringing his body back to India. The embassy has also informed the family that the death was caused by a gunshot to the head. Meanwhile, a Member of Parliament has requested that the government cover the expenses. Pareira and another individual were attempting to illegally cross the border into Israel when they were fired upon by Jordanian border forces.
