Pope Francis suffered two episodes of acute respiratory failure and underwent two bronchoscopies as he continues to recover from pneumonia. The Vatican reports that the Pope had a significant accumulation of mucus and bronchospasm. He is currently using an oxygen mask and his prognosis remains reserved.
