The US State Department has reinstated the 'foreign terrorist organization' designation for Yemen's Iran-backed Houthi group, imposing sanctions and penalties for supporting the group. The Houthis have carried out numerous attacks on ships and launched missiles and drones at Israel. The designation had been revoked by President Joe Biden's administration over concerns about aid delivery to Yemen, but the State Department now claims that such concerns are no longer an issue. The State Department's Rewards for Justice program is also offering a reward of up to $15 million for information that disrupts Houthi financing.
