UN nuclear watchdog's ability to monitor Iran's nuclear program hindered by US aid cuts -- report

The UN nuclear watchdog's ability to monitor Iran's nuclear program has been hindered by US aid cuts, according to the New York Times. Two programs that provide aid to international nuclear inspectors were suspended by President Donald Trump, with one program since being restored. The programs are intended to support the International Atomic Energy Agency by recruiting and training atomic inspectors, as well as supplying equipment and lab devices for examining samples. The US State Department states that certain assistance to programs supporting the IAEA's efforts in inspecting nuclear facilities worldwide, including in Iran, is continuing, but does not clarify if any programs have been frozen or cut.
