Qatar has called for international oversight of Israel's nuclear facilities and for Israel to join the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons. The statement was made by Qatar's foreign ministry following a meeting of IAEA governors in Vienna. Qatar's ambassador to the UN in Vienna noted that all Middle Eastern countries, except Israel, are parties to the NPT and have safeguard agreements with the agency. The ambassador also highlighted Israel's aggressive policies and obstruction of humanitarian aid to Gaza.
