A federal judge in New York City has ordered that Palestinian activist Mahmoud Khalil not be deported while the court considers a legal challenge brought by his lawyers. Khalil, a lawful US resident, was detained by federal immigration agents and flown to an immigration jail in Louisiana. He helped lead anti-Israel protests at Columbia University.
