US President Donald Trump has softened his proposal to take over the Gaza Strip, asserting that the plan does not involve expelling Palestinians. Trump's plan, introduced in February, initially called for the permanent relocation of the Strip's population of roughly 2 million people. However, Trump has now clarified that the relocation would be voluntary. The plan to implement the proposal has been limited, with several of Trump's advisers pushing for Arab allies to come up with their own proposal for the post-war management of Gaza. Egypt has introduced its own plan, which was endorsed by the Arab League.
