The Trump administration is suspending $175m in federal funding to the University of Pennsylvania over its policy on transgender athletes. This comes after a transgender woman won a national college swimming title while competing for the university. The funding freeze is separate from an investigation into Title IX violations. UPenn receives over $1bn in federal funding annually.
