Opposition parties have filed a petition to the High Court of Justice to stop the firing of Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar. The petition was submitted after the cabinet voted to end Bar's term, following Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's proposal. The decision came amidst the Shin Bet investigation into Netanyahu aides involved in the Qatargate affair.
