Lawmakers allocate NIS 3.5 billion for upgrading wastewater infrastructure for farmers

The Knesset Economy Committee approves an amendment to the Water Law, allocating NIS 3.5 billion for upgrading wastewater infrastructure for farmers. Israel is already a world leader in using treated wastewater for agriculture, with 85% of sewage and grey water treated for use in farmers' fields. The investment aims to reduce water costs for farmers and increase their competitiveness.
