Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic faces a serious public challenge to his leadership as ongoing protests demand accountability for government corruption and transparency in actions. Despite the pressure, Vucic remains in power and has shown no signs of stepping down. The EU has an opportunity to play a significant role in mitigating the unrest and luring Serbia out of Russia's orbit. The EU should emphasize democratic principles, engage with civil society groups and opposition leaders, and push for reforms in judicial independence and media freedom. The EU's support and pressure could help Vucic address the public's grievances and strengthen EU-Serbia ties.
