    23andMe Files for Bankruptcy Amid Concerns About Security of Customers' Genetic Data

    Genetic testing company 23andMe has filed for bankruptcy protection and its CEO has resigned in order to bid on the company. The company intends to continue operating during the sale process with no changes to customer data. The decline in earnings and bankruptcy filing come after a data breach in 2023 and a class-action lawsuit accusing the company of failing to notify targeted customers.
