Turkiye and the United States are seeking to remove obstacles to defense industry cooperation, according to a Turkish Foreign Ministry source. Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan visited Washington to ask for the lifting of US sanctions on Turkiye and to rejoin a fighter jet program. The visit comes as Turkiye seeks warmer ties with the US under President Donald Trump's administration. The two sides expressed their political will to cooperate in the defense industry field and discussed matters previously discussed between Trump and Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan. Technical talks will be held to resolve existing problems.
