The umbrella organization that governs Frankfurt's Jewish institutions has become the first in Germany to open a third-party reporting and counseling hotline for employees. The hotline is unique among Germany's 103 organized Jewish communities and is being operated by a local law firm. The launch of the hotline was a result of advocacy from a local Jewish activist group called Or Tamid, which pressured Frankfurt's Jewish community to adopt policies to protect potential victims of abuse. The hotline will provide anonymous reporting, legal help, and psychological counseling to employees, and the community will receive regular reports on the number and type of calls coming in.
