The Hamas militant group has accepted a new Gaza ceasefire proposal from mediators Egypt and Qatar, but Israel has made a counter-proposal in 'full coordination' with the United States. It is not clear if the proposal has changed since it was first described by an Egyptian official earlier in the week. Israel ended its ceasefire with Hamas a week and a half ago and has vowed to escalate the war until Hamas returns the 59 hostages it still holds. Families and others rallied in Tel Aviv to call for a deal that would bring everyone home.
