Momodou Taal, a Ph.D. student at Cornell University, has left the United States after facing possible deportation for participating in pro-Palestinian protests. Taal, who had been suspended by the university, is one of at least nine international students targeted by the Trump administration for activities it calls antisemitic. He had filed a suit to block the legal proceedings against him. Taal indicated on social media that he left the country after federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement personnel came to his home and revoked his visa.
