Israel has expanded its military operation in Gaza, with the Defense Minister announcing the seizure of large areas of the enclave. Israeli air strikes on two houses in Gaza have resulted in the deaths of at least 15 people, including children. Israel has already established a significant buffer zone within Gaza and plans to facilitate the voluntary departure of Palestinians from the area. Efforts to restart talks aimed at ending the war have been unsuccessful so far.
