Rebel Otzma Yehudit MK Almog Cohen has reportedly accepted a deputy ministerial position in exchange for resigning as a lawmaker under the Norwegian Law, following a meeting with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. This move allows the return of former Religious Zionism MK Zvi Sukkot and prevents the planned resignation of Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich. Cohen initially rejected the idea of accepting a role, but pressure from Otzma Yehudit led to his acceptance. The appointment is estimated to cost taxpayers NIS 3.4 million ($918,000).
