The Israel Defense Force (IDF) failed to inform troops stationed at the Gaza border about the Nova music festival, which was approved by the IDF but became the site of a deadly terror attack by Hamas. The attack resulted in the massacre of 344 civilians and 34 security personnel, as well as the abduction of 44 partygoers. A military probe found that the IDF did not make adjustments to its defenses for the party and did not deploy loudspeaker warning systems. The investigation also revealed gaps in coordination between the military and police during the approval stages and the event itself.
