The 14th annual Jerusalem Marathon brings tens of thousands of runners and their families to the capital, with each participant having their own stories and reasons for participating. Jerusalem mayor, Moshe Lion, ran the 5k alongside a released hostage. An 11-year-old Jerusalem resident ran his first 10k in memory of his cousin who was killed while serving near Gaza. A 79-year-old resident and former athlete participated in the run for the first time. A Jerusalem resident ran the 5k with her eight-year-old son, who proudly completed his first run.
