Colombia will replace its aging Israeli fighter jets with up to 24 jets from Swedish company Saab, following the country's decision to cut ties with Israel over its war with Hamas. The contract details are still being worked out, but the number of planes may be less than 24. Colombia currently has 22 Israeli-made Kfir fighter jets, which can only be maintained by an Israeli firm. The new purchase plans were announced despite the lack of diplomatic relations with Israel, and the Kfir planes will continue to operate until the new ones arrive.
