Two British members of parliament from the Labour Party were refused entry to Israel on a parliamentary delegation trip to visit the occupied West Bank. The Israeli embassy in Britain claimed that the MPs intended to provoke anti-Israel activities. The MPs expressed astonishment at the decision and emphasized the importance of parliamentarians being able to witness the situation in the occupied Palestinian territory. The Israeli Interior Ministry stated that the MPs were barred from entry due to their stated purpose of documenting Israeli security forces and spreading hateful rhetoric against Israel.
