Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with Donald Trump in Washington to discuss US tariffs, Iran, and Gaza. Netanyahu sought a reprieve from the tariffs and further backing on these issues. He met with US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer to discuss the tariff regime. Netanyahu also discussed the war in Gaza and the Israeli hostages still held in Gaza. The visit was seen as a way for Netanyahu to show support for Trump and secure an exemption from the tariffs for Israel.
