French President Emmanuel Macron stated that Hamas should not have a role in governing Gaza and expressed support for the Egyptian-led Gaza reconstruction plan. He also emphasized the need for new Palestinian governance in the enclave led by the Palestinian Authority. Macron strongly opposed the displacement of Palestinians and Israeli annexation in Gaza and the West Bank, calling it a violation of international law. In addition, Macron and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sissi signed strategic partnership agreements in transportation, health, and education. Macron will also visit the Egyptian port of el-Arish to meet with humanitarian and security workers involved in transporting aid to Gaza.
