US Deputy Special Envoy for the Middle East Morgan Ortagus has emphasized the need for disarming Hezbollah and all militias in Lebanon 'as soon as possible.' Ortagus praised Lebanon's new cabinet and its clear vision for reforms, describing the ministers as 'real patriots.' She stated that the US supports President Aoun's goal of the state having a monopoly of force and that disarmament is a central pillar of meaningful recovery. Ortagus also highlighted the importance of economic reforms and private-sector investment in rebuilding Lebanon.
