Fashion exhibit looks at design as symbol of hope during World War II

The Design Museum Holon in Israel is hosting an exhibit called 'Heroines' that explores how fashion design provided hope during World War II. The exhibit showcases the stories and creations of fashion designers during the war, highlighting their resilience and ingenuity. It includes recreated designs from Czech fashion designer Hedy Strand, as well as items from the Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum in Jerusalem. The exhibit also looks at patriotic fashion during the war and life after the war, including wedding dresses made from parachute fabric and Gottex bathing suits. The exhibit aims to draw hope from the past for the future.
