Lawmaker prostrates himself at Temple Mount, lauds 'tremendous change' in Jewish access

Religious Zionism MK Zvi Sukkot visited the Temple Mount in Jerusalem and prostrated himself in worship, praising the changes in Jewish access to the site. The Temple Mount, the holiest site in Judaism and the third-holiest site in Islam, has long had restrictions on non-Muslim visitors praying there. However, there has been a loosening of the rules for Jewish visitors in recent years. National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, who oversees the Israel Police, claimed credit for the shift in the unwritten status quo. The changes have sparked backlash and tensions in the region.
