Israeli settlers are encroaching on grazing land in the West Bank, causing harm to Bedouin and herding communities. A report by the UN humanitarian agency OCHA found that nearly half of the settler attacks documented in March and April targeted these communities. Israeli settlements are considered illegal under international law, and the settlements have been steadily expanding throughout the West Bank. Settlers have used shepherding outposts to seize around 14% of the total area of the West Bank, according to a report by Israeli rights groups Peace Now and Kerem Navot. The Bedouin communities are particularly vulnerable, as they rely on grazing their animals for their livelihoods.
