Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan have called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and the establishment of a separate state for the people of Palestine. Sharif is in Ankara for a two-day visit to discuss bilateral ties, the regional situation, and economic opportunities. Both leaders condemned Israel for its military campaign in Gaza and expressed their support for a viable, independent Palestinian state. They also discussed cooperation in energy, mining, military, defense, and the development of joint business projects. Pakistan and Turkiye have close cultural, historical, and military relations, and are now expanding into trade, economy, and investment.
