The Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA) has called on the Canadian government to take action to protect Canadian Jewry from the growing threat of antisemitism and terrorism. CIJA has requested that the government classify Samidoun as a terrorist entity and criminalize the display of symbols glorifying acts of terrorism. They have also asked for a reassessment of the Gazan Visa Security Process protocol. CIJA highlighted recent incidents, including arrests of individuals with links to ISIS and an attempted attack on border police in Israel, to support their demands. A poll commissioned by CIJA found that Canadian Jews are concerned about antisemitism and believe that more should be done to combat it.
