Conservative leadership candidate Robert Jenrick has urged the UK Government to proscribe Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organisation. Jenrick described the IRGC as the 'world's chief sponsor of terror' and called on Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer to take action. He argued that proscribing the IRGC would allow the UK to crack down on groups linked to the organisation. However, former foreign secretary Lord Cameron warned that such a move would effectively end diplomatic relations with Iran.
