The Thiruvananthapuram international airport in India has implemented mpox screening for international travelers. A health desk has been set up at the international arrival terminal to identify passengers with symptoms of cold and fever. Those with suspected symptoms will be sent for isolation and further tests. Similar screenings are already in place at Chennai and Bengaluru airports, and will begin at other airports as well. India has reported 30 mpox cases since the World Health Organisation's declaration of a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC) in 2022.
