Thousands gathered in Beirut's southern suburbs for a funeral when an explosion caused panic and chaos. Mourners feared that their phones would also explode, leading to a stampede and people hiding in nearby buildings. The blasts occurred a day after pagers across Lebanon exploded, killing 12 people and injuring thousands. Despite the fear, some women in the crowd defiantly pumped their fists, showing that they would not be scared by the attacks.
