The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) launched airstrikes on hundreds of rocket launcher sites in southern Lebanon, while Hezbollah's leader accused Israel of crossing a 'red line'. The IDF stated that the sites targeted had rocket launcher barrels ready to be used against Israel. The airstrikes came after explosions in Lebanon, which were blamed on Israeli operations and resulted in 37 deaths and thousands of injuries. Meanwhile, two Israeli soldiers were killed in the north of Israel, with one killed by a drone and the other by an anti-tank missile fired by Hezbollah. Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah called the explosions a 'declaration of war' and vowed to respond with 'just punishment'.
