French tyre maker Michelin is investing Rs 564 crore to expand its plant in Gummidipoondi near Chennai, India. The plant will produce premium passenger car tyres and is expected to commence commercial production in Q3 of CY2025. The facility will employ around 200 additional full-time employees and will manufacture tyres up to the size of 24 inches. Michelin currently imports passenger car tyres for the Indian market.
