The Israel Defense Forces confirmed a targeted missile strike on Beirut, Lebanon, aimed at Ibrahim Aqil, a member of Hezbollah's Jihad Council. Aqil is wanted by the United States for his alleged role in the 1983 bombing of a U.S. Marines barracks in Beirut. The strike killed at least nine individuals and wounded approximately 60 others, flattening two apartment buildings. Israeli officials stated that Aqil was also in charge of Hezbollah's 'Conquer the Galilee' attack plan.
