Yehiya Ayyash, a Palestinian bomb-maker responsible for killing around 150 Israelis, was killed by the Israelis in 1996 using a remotely-triggered bomb inside his cell phone. This method has also been used to target Hezbollah cadres. In 1994, a bus in Tel Aviv was targeted by Saleh Abdel Rahim al-Souwi, seeking revenge for the death of his brother. Israeli forces had killed his younger brother in 1989.
