The Israeli military says hundreds of thousands of people had to take cover in bomb shelters in northern Israel after more than 100 projectiles were fired from Lebanon. The rocket fire prompted school closures and caused fires in the area. Israel's civil defence agency has ordered all schools in the country's north to remain closed until at least Monday. The Israeli military launched strikes on Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon in response to the rocket fire.
