Moving IDF bases tops gov't housing plan

The Israeli government has announced plans to evacuate IDF bases, move the Volcani Institute, and reduce the area of the Mikveh Israel agricultural school as part of its housing plan for 2025. The plan also includes measures to increase the supply of housing through 'mega roof agreements' and support urban renewal projects. The government aims to move the bases at the Kirya, Glilot, Tzrifin, Tel Hashomer, and Haifa to new locations determined by the Israel Land Authority, the Ministry of Defense, and the Budgets Division of the Ministry of Finance. The government also plans to move the Volcani Institute to increase housing supply and develop housing units on part of the Mikveh Israel land. However, the feasibility of these plans is uncertain due to the complex and time-consuming nature of the processes involved.
