Lebanese ophthalmologist Elias Jaradeh has been working tirelessly to treat the flood of patients with eye injuries caused by exploding pagers and walkie-talkies in Lebanon. Many patients will never regain their sight. The explosions, believed to have been targeted at Hezbollah fighters, killed at least 39 people and wounded around 3,000 more. Jaradeh, who has treated victims of previous explosions, said he has never seen anything like this before. He described the situation as a war on Lebanon and humanity.
