The Israeli military is conducting extensive strikes against Hezbollah targets in Lebanon amid heavy cross-border exchanges of fire. Israeli warplanes carried out intense air strikes along Lebanon's southern border and even further north. Hezbollah's al-Manar television reported Israeli airstrikes targeting towns and villages in the south and the Bekaa Valley. The conflict between Israel and Hezbollah has escalated sharply in the past week, with Hezbollah opening a second front in support of Palestinians in Gaza. Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant said operations would continue until it was safe for evacuated people to return.
