Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon killed nearly 500 people, including women and children, and injured over 1,000 others. It was the deadliest day of Israeli attacks since 2006. The strikes were aimed at breaking Hezbollah's resolve, but so far, they have not forced the group to pull back from the Lebanon-Israel border.
