Swedish authorities have accused Iran of being behind thousands of text messages sent to people in Sweden calling for revenge over the burnings of the Quran in 2023. The Swedish company that runs the SMS service was targeted in a data breach by Iran's paramilitary Revolutionary Guard, according to officials. The messages, sent in Swedish, were attributed to a group called the Anzu team. The intent of the messages was to paint Sweden as an Islamophobic country and create division in society, said SAPO's operational manager.
