Lebanese families are taking refuge in shelters in Beirut after fleeing heavy Israeli air strikes in the south of the country. Ali Berri and his family fled from the Tyre area and it took them almost 14 hours to reach Beirut due to heavy traffic. Hundreds of families woke up in a shelter in the southern suburbs of Beirut after arduous journeys from the south. Israeli airstrikes began on Monday morning, causing tens of thousands to flee their homes. The death toll has risen to 558, including 50 children, according to Lebanese authorities.
