The Tanaiste, Micheal Martin, has confirmed that Minister for Public Expenditure Paschal Donohoe did not make a phone call to an Israeli minister regarding the Occupied Territories Bill. The reported phone call, which was said to have taken place in 2019, was disclosed in leaked documents from the Israeli Ministry of Justice. Sinn Fein's Matt Carthy raised the issue in the Dail, calling on Mr Martin to clarify whether the call occurred. Mr Martin stated that Mr Donohoe denies making the call and that his published diary does not record it. He also criticized the Israeli response to the recent attack by Hamas.
